Friends and readers of the Boa Onda Guesthouse Peniche blog welcome back with news from the world of surfing. Through this post we will tell you about the next edition of the Meo Rip Curl Pro 2023, which as always will take place in Peniche at the legendary Supertubos beach. After the disruption caused by the Covid 19 pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled. The year 2022 saw the return of Meo Rip Curl to Supertubos in March, to the delight of the many Portuguese surfing fans who came in droves to watch the event. And there was no shortage of surprises…

In the next few lines we will give you the results of the 2022 edition, as well as the dates for the next event in 2023, the reference website and some statistical data on the latest winners of the Portuguese leg of the World Professional Surfing Championship.

 

Meo Rip Curl Pro 2023

The Meo Rip Curl Pro 2023 will be held at the Supertubos beach in Peniche on the dates from 8 to 16 March 2023.

 

Meo Rip Curl Pro 2022: details

The return of the Meo Rip Curl Pro 2022 to Peniche has been planned ahead of past editions. In fact, this European stage has been placed at the start of the season, precisely as event number 3 after the two Hawaii stages of:

  • Billabong Pro Pipeline
  • Hurley Pro Sunset Beach

 

The Peniche event will also be the only event to be held in Europe in 2022, as the WSL World Championship will move to Australia and Indonesia first and then on to Central and South America. Below are the exact dates of the event scheduled to take place at Supertubos beach:
